No Place Like Home

Talk about symmetry -- it was exactly one year ago today that we gloriously unfurled our long-awaited championship banner at Fenway, in front of the visiting Yankees no less. Today, the Sox get their 2006 home schedule started against Toronto, with Josh Beckett going up against Josh Towers. The boys come into the game on a roll, having won five of their first six including a weekend series sweep of the hapless Orioles. One down note -- Coco Crisp won't be in the lineup for a while due to an injured finger. They're estimating he may be lost for up to a month. Adam Stern - star of Canada's WBC team - will fill in for Crisp, and rumor has it Stern is even taking part in the singing of the Canadian national anthem. It says here Sternie will make an impact of some sort over the next couple of weeks. Beautiful day in Boston today - should be around 65 degrees at game time, and I'll have a great view of the proceedings - from my office window :( More later...
